EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT book tells the incredible story of the character IRIS, based on real facts.
A while ago, Brad Foxhoven heard about the concept of actual, real life Executive Assistants in China, and uncovered a series of articles that had been written on the subject. The articles mostly revolved around these schools that would bring in girls when they were really young and train them in the arts of everything ranging from fighting to the etiquette of properly setting a table. After graduation these girls, now women, would be hired by businessmen to be their personal assistants/bodyguards. It is such a cool story it seemed almost unbelievable. But it was real. Soon after that, was a matter of time until David Wohl got the wheels turning and the concept for a new and exciting series was created. EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT: IRIS! EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT: IRIS #1 is GUARANTEED in stores now! Oie! Esta personagem se chama IRIS, e a historia desta personagem é baseada em fatos reais. Uma vez o amigo do roteirista David Wohl, Brad Foxhoven, ouvira a respeito de um conceito real da vida de Assistentes Executivas na China, e depois descobriu uma série de artigos publicados que foram escritos a respeito. Os artigos geralmente mencionavam escolas onde se recrutavam à força garotas muito jovens, pobres ou órfãos. Ali, elas eram treinadas para se formar em todos os tipos de arte e etiqueta, desde lutas marciais à colocação impecável de uma mesa de chá. Após a graduação, essas meninas, agora mulheres, eram contratadas por empresários para trabalhar como suas Assistentes pessoais e guarda-costas. É uma historia e tanto, e inacreditável, mas realmente aconteceu. Então foi questão de tempo até que o Wohl pegasse a idéia e a transformasse em uma série. O David viu o meu trabalho pela primeira vez em 2007, e entrou em contato comigo para saber se eu estava disponível para o projeto, mas eu não estava podendo fazer muita coisa além dos trabalhos na Aranim. Gostei muito de tudo. A pintura ficou ótima, especialmente a tatuagem, que está divina. Parabéns ao colorista. Se não me engano, vcs já fizeram um bocado de coisas juntos, né? Destaco ainda o rosto dela... vc foi muito feliz ao desenhar uma expressão forte mas extremamente feminina, quase frágil. A personagem ficou mais "humana" e não aquela manjada "garota zangada com uma espada de samurai"... Enfim, parabéns! Sou sua fã.
