How I Ink: Turok by eDufRancisco How I Ink: Turok by eDufRancisco

Usei pouca coisa pra fazer: lápis 6B, borracha limpa tipos, nanquim, papel A3, caneta 0.1 (nanquim) e pincel.

Hey guys, this is my new work for DarkHorse, Turok: Son Of Stone. This week I have taken some time to do this sample of my inking process.

I use a pencil graduation 6B, kneaded eraser, Brazilian acrylic inks (nankim), A3 paper professional quality comic art board, disposable ink pen 1.0, and a brush.

People have asked me about the brushes I use to ink. The one format I do like is a round liner (Fine Liner Sable 2/0 302). There are many formats but particularly I like that one because it is perfect for contouring, outlining and for doing fine details, it keeps the trace steady and straight, and many people like to use it for signatures.

This is a Kolinsky sable-hair brush, a very fine artist’s brush. The hair is obtained from the tail of the kolinsky, a species of weasel rather than an actual sable. Artist's who use the kolinsky sable brush claim it has superior strength, slenderness, and resiliency when compared with other sable brushes. But guys these brushes are expansive so to tell you the truth, I can get the same result inking with a brush made of Ox-ear hair, they are thin, long and resistant, and it work just fine for me!

Wonderful! One question: do you erase the pencil after the inking?

I'm so glad you shared this!! This really makes me motivated to start trying to ink my own works. All I've got to say is that takes a lot of patience to outline all that detail ^^. By the way, I know that you ink, quite a lot. I was wondering how quickly you go through a bottle of ink?
